Alan De’Ath is a community activist and campaigner, having been a local councilor in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham 2014-2019, holding positions including Chair of the Economic Regeneration, Housing, and the Arts Policy and Accountability Committee; Chair of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Task Force; and the Borough’s Representative for the Armed Forces Community. Alan was in the 2017 UK General Election. He was a Parliamentary Candidate for Chelsea & Fulham.
Alan has previously worked in secondary education for seven years, providing pastoral and academic support for young people. He has been a School Governor and a Board Member at Fulham Palace.
After studying a postgraduate MSc in International Politics at SOAS, University of London in 2019, Alan is now a civil servant, working primarily on national security. This has included Iran-UK bilateral relations in the FCDO, cyber defense policy in the Cabinet Office, and currently, energy security in the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero.
Alan is also a member of the Royal Navy Reserve and lives with his long-term partner from Nigeria in south London.
