Board Chair
Harry Small is the Chair of the Trustees of the Bisi Alimi Foundation. He has held this position since 2020. He has enjoyed spending time in Nigeria helping with the activities of the Foundation
Most of Harry’s working life has been spent as a technology lawyer in a large international law firm where he also took a passionate interest in diversity and inclusion and for some years led the global LGBT+ Group there, which worked to ensure that all people were welcomed and valued as employees without distinction as to sexuality or gender identity.
Harry is a passionate supporter of LGBT+ rights, particularly the rights of trans people, and is keen to use the expertise he has acquired in a long professional career. He wants to help the Foundation carry forward its mission to help LGBT+ people in Nigeria be accepted and welcomed in the same way as their non-LGBT+ colleagues – with acceptance, with love, and without discrimination.
Harry contributes to other equality-related charities – particularly the London AIDS Memorial. He is married to Jonathan, a headteacher, with whom he has been together since 1994.
